Hello! My name is Fonda and I’ve been sewing since I was about 5 years old. For as long as I can remember sewing has been part of my life, though at times I've had long breaks in between.
Near the start of 2017 I said out loud (not that anyone was listening) that I was done shopping for clothes and I would start making my own. Since then I haven’t stopped and have become better with every stitch even when there are mistakes.
Now I'm ready to share my art and craft online within the sewing community, a place where I’ve browsed countless hours and admired the incredible skills of women I’ve never met. My hopes for this sewing blog are: 1. To document and keep tabs on my growth as a sewer. 2. To weave in stories from my life, the people I love who are in it, and the places that I’ve traveled as it relates to sewing and textiles. 3. Make connections with other sewers online!
My home is nestled in the cool climate of Portland, Oregon. I live here with my love and husband, Dan, and our energetic French bulldog, Zedd. Although I’ve been here now for nearly 14 years, my Mexican roots still lie in the hot central valley of California. I always have the eagerness to travel abroad or take a road trip in the US.
So with that, I’ll close by giving a great big thank you for reading, following, or just stopping by!
